The Challenge
A global turnaround firm wanted to conduct a comparative analysis of their current IT vendors, using variables including price, location, and staffing capabilities. The challenge was in variations in terminologies and internal systems among the large number of vendors (over 80), spelling and grammatical errors in many of the data sets, and the short 12 day timeframe of the project.
Our Approach
SmithStreetSolutions’ data entry expertise, language experts, and 24 hour operations enabled us to provide the client with an analysis of their IT spending within the 12 day timeframe. We began by conducting research to understand the client’s services and the data required for the vendor analysis. Our data team worked with our translation team to correct errors in spelling and grammar, and standardized the terminology and definitions used by all of the vendors by designing a new data template. Once the data was standardized, we were able to consolidate the data and run an analysis based upon the client’s requirements. Throughout the process, we remained in daily contact with the client who provided guidance and updated project requirements.
Our Solution
We provided the client with a consolidated, standardized data sheet and a pricing analysis of their IT vendors. Based upon our findings, the client was able to streamline their IT vendor list to maximize utility and reduce their operating costs.
